Furniture Amnesty Day
Furniture Amnesty Day is an annual event that allows local residents to donate furniture they no longer need so others can select from the donated goods for free. The 2017 event is scheduled for Friday, July 28th in City Park. To donate, you can drop off your furniture between 7 am and 4 pm on the day of the event in City Park. Or, if you live in Manhattan city limits, you can have your donation picked up. You must fill out the online form or call 785-587-2404 by 5 pm July 26th to be on the collection route. Furniture needs to be on the curb by 7 am July 28th. Volunteers cannot assist with getting the furniture out of your home. If you would like to select from the donated furniture, you’ll need to participate in the public sign-in, which begins at 8 am July 28th. You will be able to choose from available time slots between noon and 4 pm. Each household will be allowed to select 5 pieces of furniture. You will need your own form of transportation to get the selected furniture to your home.
