On Sunday, October 20th, Darren Ivey will talk about “The Ranger Ideal: A Discussion of the Best of That Famous Organization” and sign books at 2:00 pm at the Manhattan Public Library. Admission is free. This program is jointly sponsored by the Kansas Corral of the Westerners and the Riley County Historical Society and Museum.
Randolph Fall Supper will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd, at the Randolph United Methodist Church. Serving from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The menu includes Swedish Meatballs, Creamed Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Vegetables, Salads, Homemade Bread, Homemade Pie, & Drinks. Adults – $9.00; Children K-6th – $3.00; Preschool- Free. Okt-FLU-ber Fest!! Join the Riley County Health Department for a family-friendly and fun flu shot clinic on Thursday, October 24th from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at Pottorf Hall at CiCo Park. Vaccine registration closes at 6:45 pm. They will have FREE pumpkins with kids’ flu shots (while supplies last), Kids games & books, Healthy snacks and Removable Tattoos. Manhattan High School’s Environmental Science Investigations Club (ESI) is hosting a fair to raise environmental awareness on October 27th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at CiCo Park Fairgrounds. Several environmental groups will have booths, alongside demonstrations, to show off different aspects of nature. There is no admission cost! Bring the family and come learn about the world around us!
Paxico Sacred Heart Parish will have a Home Smoked German Sausage Supper on Sunday, October 27th serving Buffet Style from 12:00 to 3:30 pm. Mass will be at 10:30 am. There will be Bingo/Games/Raffles and a Silent Auction. Adults – $12.00; Ages 4 thru 12 – $4.00; Ages under 4 – Free. This event will be held at Parish Hall Newbury, KS located 1 1/2 miles north of Paxico, KS.
Thundering Cats Big Band will have a Wesley Benefit Concert at 1:30 pm on Sunday, October 27th at the College Avenue United Methodist Church. “Great Big Band Music” The band will play several big band standards. No admission charge. Free will offering received for Wesley Campus Ministry at KSU: where the Thundering Cats rehearse on Thursday nights.
Howl N’ Prowl in City Park will be held on Sunday, October 27th from 7 to 8 pm. This is a benefit for the T. Russell Reitz Animal Shelter.
