SUMMARY:McCain Performance Series-Actors from the London Stage: Romeo and Juliet
DESCRIPTION:The passion of youthful love is never more vivid than in Romeo and Juliet\, arguably Shakespeare’s most beloved and well-known work. Alternating between laugh-out-loud comedy\, exuberant romance\, and wrenching tragedy\, Romeo and Juliet features Shakespeare’s greatest romantic pairing: a starcrossed duo whose passion careens into disaster.Populated with immortal characters\, high drama\, and Shakespeare’s most famed passages\, Romeo and Juliet is as powerful as ever. The feud between two dynastic families is put to the ultimate test when Romeo\, of the Montague family\, and Juliet\, of the Capulets\, fall deeply into love. Prevented from marrying by their warring families yet unable to turn away from each other\, the lovers embark on a dangerous plan to secretly wed\, leading to unexpected yet devastating consequences.\nFounded in 1975\, Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) is one of the oldest touring Shakespeare theatre companies in the world. Housed and workshopped in the UK and based in the United States at Shakespeare at Notre Dame\, this intensive residency program is truly one of a kind. The company presents residencies at approximately 16-18 universities per year. These one-week visits present students and faculty with an opportunity to experience a cross-disciplinary\, in-depth\, and dynamic set of workshops\, further enhanced by performances of one of Shakespeare’s great masterpieces. \nTickets: https://ksumccain.universitytickets.com/.

SUMMARY:McCain Performance Series-Storm Large
DESCRIPTION:Storm Large: musician\, actor\, playwright\, author\, awesome. She shot to national prominence in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova\, where despite having been eliminated in the week before the finale\, Storm built a fan base that follows her around the world.\nStorm made her debut as guest vocalist with the band Pink Martini in April 2011\, singing four sold-out concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington\, DC. Recent engagements include debuts with the Philly Pops\, members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra\, and the Seattle Symphony\, as well as return engagements with the Houston\, Detroit\, Toronto\, and BBC Symphonies; the New York Pops; and the Louisville Orchestra\, with whom she recorded the 2017 album All In. SUMMARY:McCain Performance Series-Classic Albums Live performs Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 2003 by Craig Martin\, Classic Albums Live takes the greatest albums and recreates them live on stage – note for note\, cut for cut\, using the best musicians. “Think of it as a recital\,” says Martin\, “these albums are historic and stand the test of time.” Forgoing costumes and impersonations\, Classic Albums Live has found success in concentrating solely on the music. “We don’t dress up or wear any sort of costume. We just stand there and play. All of our energy is put into the music. We want the performance to sound exactly like the album\,” says Martin. With 100+ shows a year across North America\, Classic Albums Live has seen massive success in performing arts centers and theatres. “We created something that endures and connects. These albums are sacred to people. We deliver exactly what we promote – ‘note for note\, cut for cut’ accuracy. \nTickets: https://mccain.k-state.edu/tickets/.
