SUMMARY:4th Annual VFW Golf Scramble
DESCRIPTION:The Manhattan Veterans of Foreign Wars is holding their 4th Annual VFW Golf Scramble\, with all proceeds directly go to assisting veterans\, widows / widowers of veterans\, and the children of veterans in the Manhattan\, KS area.  The event will be held at Stagg Hill Golf Club on Saturday May 2 with registration starting at 7:15am and a shotgun start at 8:00am.   There will be contests for longest drive\, longest putt\, and closest to the pin.  Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and the losing team as well…plus there will be a 50/50 raffle and on-course games.  Lunch will be provided. \nPre-registration is encouraged\, and can be done by visiting charitygolftoday.com/vfwpost1786.

DESCRIPTION:Accord Hospice of Manhattan will host their 8th annual Camp SOAR to support children in the Manhattan and surrounding areas who are coping with a significant loss through death\, divorce\, or distance on Saturday\, May 9\, 2026. It will take place at A & H Farm in Manhattan from 9 am – 3 pm. “Finding Light\,” the theme for this years’ Camp SOAR will allow for games\, crafts\, fun activities and the opportunity to make new friends and share experiences that will brighten th \nAccord Hospice of Manhattan has several “champions” that have been a part of Camp SOAR throughout the years. The Kiwanis Club of Junction City will be providing lunch this year\, the Optimist Club of Manhattan and Via Christi Village will also provide support.
