
McCain Performance Series-Melissa Etheridge and Indigo Girls: Yes We Are Tour
Leavenworth native Melissa Etheridge and the Indigo Girls will perform a show in Manhattan as part of the “Yes We Are Tour”! Etheridge is an award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist who has sold more than 25 million albums. Known for her raspy voice and emotive performances, Etheridge released her self-titled debut album in 1988, which included the Grammy-nominated hit “Bring Me Some Water”. She won her first Grammy in 1992. Etheridge’s music often reflects her personal life, including her 2005 victory over breast cancer.
The Indigo Girls are an American folk rock music duo from Atlanta, consisting of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers. They met in elementary school and began performing together in high school in Decatur, Georgia. They started performing with the name Indigo Girls while students at Emory University in Atlanta.
