The Veterans Day parade held in Manhattan is our State’s largest celebration of service. It is sponsored by the Flint Hills Veterans Coalition offering the public the opportunity to show their support for those who serve on our nation’s most visible stage. To conduct the parade the Flint Hills Veterans Coalition works in partnership with the Kansas State Army ROTC, Ft. Riley, USO, and other organizations. We are thankful for the tremedndous support of those who participate and those who donate to honor those who have given so much.  The parade runs down Poyntz Avenue beginning at Manhattan Town Center and concluding in front of the Manhattan Court House.  All in attendance are asked to follow current social distancing and face covering guidelines.

This family friendly event will include creating a delicious mocktail with a surprising fizzy element.  Then, we will dive right into some spooky STEM! Families will be creating a “Matter Monster” and a “Glove Ghost” as we explore the difference between an exothermic and endothermic reaction.  All materials will be provided by Sunflower CASA.

The Wamego Community Foundation Match Day Event provides a unique opportunity for the entire Wamego community to participate and support local nonprofit organizations and various charitable funds and causes. As the result of generous gifts of monies made to the Foundation by Benefactors with established, long-term connections to the Wamego community, and subject to Match Day limitations and guidelines, each organization receiving Match Day donations from the public at large will then receive an additional 50% matching amount on their donor gifts from the matching funds!
