Biscuit & Gravy Fundraiser for Darren Hofmanm

The Riley County Firefighters Association invites you to a Biscuits & Gravy fundraiser in support of our fellow firefighter Darren Hofmann and his family.  Enjoy a hearty breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy while supplies last.  We’re accepting free-will donations, with all proceeds going to help Darren and his family with expenses related to his recent illness.  Curbside pickup will be available-just drive up and place your order and we’ll bring your meal to you.  Indoor seating will also be provided.

10th Annual Remember and Honor Memorial Run

The Vietnam Vets Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club presents their 10th Annual Remember and Honor Run on Saturday May 3rd.  Registration begins at 10am at the clubhouse.  There will be music, food, drinks, a 50/50 raffle, and prizes for high and low hands.  All proceeds will be donated to the Kansas Veterans Cemetary.

The club is the largest Veterans motorcycle club, and was originally created to help protect Vietnam veterans rights along with POW/MIA accountability.  The group is planning a Memorial Day run on May 26th out to the cemetary at 5181 Wildcat Creek Rd to donate all the funds raised to the Kansas Veterans Cemetary.

VFW Easter Fun Day

Bring the family out for an Easter celebration at the Junction City VFW Post 8773!  The festivities begin with a stuffed plastic egg hunt at 11:45, followed by a pot luck lunch at 12:30.  Then at 1pm, the entertainment kicks in to high gear with games and a DJ!  The games include pool, cornhole, bingo, along with board and card games.

Konza Shootout

The 2025 Konza Shootout Sporting Clays Classic is your chance to showcase your shotgun shooting skills in 2 25-round sets. Set 1 will be traditional trap house, set 2 will be an elevated 5 stand. Prizes awarded to the top 3 individual shooters and top 3 teams.

Additional shooting games include: Turkey Dinner (single shot at a turkey silouette), Holey Pie (single shot at a pie pan), and a Bee Swarm (25 clays thrown at a 2 second interval). Prizes awarded to the top 3 in each event.

Fees are $100/shooter ($500/team) which includes ammo and lunch. Additional games are $10 per game and do not include ammo. Ammo available for purchase on site.

There will also be a silent auction and gun raffle. Raffle tickets available in advance from the Konza Office (need not be present to win, must pass a background check and be 18 yrs old for the shotgun or 21 for the pistol).

Randolph Lions Club Pancake Supper

The Randolph VFW is hosting a pancake supper to benefit Community Service and the BVHS Scholarships.  Pancakes, sausage, eggs. peaches, milk, coffee and tea will be served.  There will be a free-will donation accepted at the door.

Riley County Fish & Game Association Annual Fundraiser

Support youth and outdoor efforts in Riley County…all proceeds stay in your community!  This event features a dinner (catered by Ricky’s of Hanover) at 5:30pm, followed by an auction at 6:30pm.  Ages 13 & up are $15, ages 6-12 are $10, and it’s free for ages 5 and under.  Bring the kids, because there will be door prizes for all ages.  There is a live and silent auction, all to help with Conservation programs, gun safety clinics, youth fishing clinics, and much more.  Limited tickets will be available at the door, but don’t wait.  Contact Chris Deetjen at 785-747-6433 and get yours now!

7 Spiritual Causes of Ill Health

Patricia Cassinelli will present “7 Spiritual Causes of Ill Health” at St. Thomas More Church Saturday January 11. This non-denominational presentation dives into seven aspects of spiritual blockage, encourages a new approach to inner exploration and a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit. Check in is at 8:30 a.m. and the presentation is from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the St. Thomas More Utopia Room. Coffee, tea, and breakfast items will be provided. Advance Registration is $45. and closes January 5. Registration at the door is $55.
